Different types of tires

  • Summer tires : These are the tires that we use in the summer only and must be replaced when the winter comes.
  • Winter tires : It may be written or bear the mark MS, which means Mud and Snow, and it is of two types.
    • Pointed tires : It gives grip and stability on the ground and snow, but it is not good and damages the asphalt.
    • Friction tires : It gives grip and stability on the ground, less stability on ice, and does not cause significant damage to the ground.

The difference between these frames is the way they are installed, such as the perforations, their depth, and their division. Each frame is designated for a specific purpose.
It is not permissible to use summer tires in the winter, as the summer tire is intended for summer
If you use it in the winter, it may not be as effective as you expect, and it may become solid and not interact with asphalt
It is intended for summer and relatively hot climates, which negatively affects its performance.

Trailer tires

  • If the vehicle has studded winter tires, the trailer must have studded tires in winter road conditions
  • If your trailer has studded winter tires, your vehicle does not need them.
  • Summer tires equipped with snow chains may be used as an alternative to winter tires.

When is it necessary to use winter tires and when is it prohibited?

  • You are obligated to install and use winter tires from December 1 to March 31.
  • Winter tires are prohibited from being used between April 16 and September 30 unless the weather conditions require it.

Tires must be of a certain depth and perforation so that you can install them and drive them on the roads
You should not drive if the speeds are less than what is permitted.

Permissible perforation depth

  • New tires are 8 mm
  • For summer tires, the minimum permissible puncture depth is 1.6 mm
  • For winter tires, the minimum permissible puncture depth is 3.0 mm

Spare tire in the car

You are allowed to install a spare tire in the car provided that you do not drive at a speed faster than what is stated on the tire and only for the repair shop.
It is also forbidden to drive on it permanently, and you must repair and install the regular tire.

Tire defect

  • Incorrect adjustment or installation : This will cause the car to head to the side of the road if you do not hold the steering wheel with your hands.
  • Incorrect adjustment or installation: The tire wears out on one end, and colliding forcefully with something can lead to the same reasons.
  • Incorrect budget: It causes the steering wheel to vibrate at certain speeds and also causes wear on the car’s wheels.
  • Cleaned tires: If the tire is worn due to incorrect installation, incorrect budget, or due to speed, this increases the risk of slipping

additional information

You are not allowed to install multiple mixtures of tires, for example, installing a winter tire and the rest of the summer tires
Or install a summer wardrobe and the rest for winter, and all the wardrobes must be of the same perforation and for the same season.

You must inspect the tires periodically, especially from the sides, as they may be worn out due to incorrect installation
Therefore, it will cause you a problem and it may also explode while you are driving the vehicle on the road

You must ensure that the tires have appropriate and moderate air pressure
Low air pressure can cause tire wear and also cause an increase in fuel consumption
It also becomes difficult to roll the vehicle easily and requires a larger amount of fuel to move forward, which is not good for the environment or your pocket :).

When changing the wheels, you must tighten all the wheel bolts after a short period
As the screws can become loose, they must be re-tightened and ensured that they are firm and well tightened.

When changing two tires on your car, always install the new tires at the back
The new tires at the back make the car’s stability and grip on the ground better.

Do not forget that high speed increases the speed of tire wear more than slow speeds.

The wide tires that are installed on the car increase the car’s fuel consumption

Therefore, when installing new tires for your car, choose the best tires, and if you do not have experience with them, you can inquire from the maintenance center about the best ones.
