The practical driving exam is to test the applicant for driving within the city, as well as external areas, side roads, and within residential areas
The practical exam includes the following
Inspect and prepare the car (control) before driving
- Check the side signals, rear and front lights in the car
- Verifying the integrity of the car’s four tires and the depth and type of punctures in them
- Checking the manual brakes (in modern cars, there is often a button on the left under the dashboard with the letter ((P)) on it. You lift it with your finger. See the picture below)
- Regular brake check
- Check the locations of the fluid containers in the engine
- You are asked about each container for what purpose it is
- You must adjust your seat to suit your movement and comfort, and adjust the headrest if it is mobile
- After adjusting your seat, you must adjust the rear mirror and the side mirror, right and left
- You must tighten your seat belt firmly to ensure that there is no problem with it, and then before you start and operate the vehicle, place it around your body appropriately and not be crooked or twisted.
In general, this is what is asked of you, or this is what you should do and check before driving the vehicle on the road
Even if the person examining you does not ask you or ask you to perform a control procedure
You must carry out internal and external control on your own unless you are asked otherwise or asked to skip some things
- Number one place is the handbrake
- Number two is the car start button
- Number three car key
While driving, you must take into account that you must act on your own when driving
When the examiner tells you, for example, go to Gothenburg
In this case, you must rely on the signs and direction signs so that he can see that you read the signs and know how to plan your drive
In addition to your self-reliance and self-confidence, and also taking into account that everyone can make mistakes along the way.
This is a reminder and to draw attention, and while driving and examining you, you should pay attention to the following things
- Road direction signs
- Traffic signs and warnings
- traffic lights
- Pedestrian crossings
- Adjust your speed according to the set speed and do not increase it above the set speed
- Pay more attention to pedestrian crossings and look around you to the right and left to make sure that there are no pedestrians or bicycles coming quickly.
- Pay attention at intersections and give priority to the right if the right-hand rule applies
- Stop at the STOP sign, as it clearly means stop. You must stop completely and look right and left, for example, for 5 seconds before continuing to walk.
- On the highway, always drive in the right lane, unless you want to overtake a slow-moving car. Just pass at the same speed as you are and return to the right lane.
- When you enter the highway in the acceleration field, you must adjust your speed to the same speed as you are traveling on the highway
- When you want to move from the acceleration field to the highway, give a light signal while looking at the dead corner.
- When crossing a railway line, even if there is no oncoming train, look right and left
- When you want to enter the roundabout, choose the correct position of your car before entering. For example, if you want to exit the first or second lane in the roundabout, always place your car in the right lane before entering the roundabout.
- If you want to exit the third or fourth lane, place your car before entering the roundabout in the left lane and give a traffic light signal, pointing to the left before entering the roundabout (not obligatory), and before exiting the roundabout, give a traffic light signal, look at the dead corner, and exit quietly (mandatory).
- When exiting the roundabout, do not forget to give a light signal so that other drivers understand that you want to leave the roundabout, and always look at the dead corner when exiting the roundabout into any lane.
- When you want to turn and go right or left, you must always give a light signal and take a suitable position for your vehicle according to your direction and journey.
- Pedestrian crossings: If there are no traffic lights or barriers, you are always obligated to stop and give priority to pedestrians, even if there is a broken traffic light.
- Do not step on the brakes hard or use them frequently without a clear reason in order to be environmentally friendly and reduce fuel consumption
- When looking in the mirror, keep your gaze calm. Do not look with quick and fleeting glances. Look naturally and calmly at the mirror, right, left and center, to see the vehicles behind you and on your side.
- When you want to change your lane, look at the mirror and the dead corner, signal with the blinker, and change your lane calmly
- Make your driving defensive and not offensive, as aggressive driving indicates that you are a reckless person and your driving is unsafe over the rest of the traffic and will put lives in danger. This gives the examiner a negative view of you, so be calm and do not be nervous, as calm gives the examiner a positive view of you and your driving.
This is what you will be tested on in the practical examination, unless the examiner makes an exception on his own initiative
