The exit rule means that you must give way to all traffic coming from the right and left

These apply when you exit one of the following areas onto the road

  • When you exit a gas station
  • When you exit a parking lot
  • When you leave a residential area
  • When you come out of the land next to the road
  • When you leave a garage or shop
  • When you exit a private road

Example in the following picture

I was at a gas station and wanted to get out onto the road. According to the picture, there is a warning triangle so I can give priority to the rest of the traffic coming from the right and left. In some streets, there may not be a warning triangle.

Get out of the way

When you want to leave the road and turn to the right or left, you must always alert the traffic behind you in advance, by giving a dimpled signal towards the direction you want to turn to. You must always give a dimpled signal at any turn, regardless of whether the street is a main or a secondary street. Adhere to your dimples so that you can alert those behind you of what you want.

In the picture above, you want to go on the right road, so you have to explain that far enough in advance so that the driver behind you is prepared for that and knows that you will slow down and perhaps stop before you turn right. You also have to put your car in the appropriate place according to your destination.

Exiting a parking lot

When you want to leave a parking lot onto the street, you must also give priority to traffic coming from the right and left. If there is a pedestrian road, you must give priority to pedestrians, and then give priority to cars on the road.

For example, you want to leave the parking lot in the picture on the right, and there is a bicycle and pedestrian path. In this case, you give priority to pedestrians, bicycles, and cars traveling on the street and coming from the right and left.

Exit from a residential area to the street

If you want to leave a residential area, you must also give priority to traffic coming from the right and left, and do not continue your path until the road is empty of vehicles. The following picture is an example for clarification. If there is a bicycle and pedestrian crossing, you must be careful and give priority to bicycles and pedestrians, and then to cars on the road.

Pedestrian crossing points

You must also give priority to pedestrians and bicycles crossing at a pedestrian crossing point unless it is protected by a traffic light, as in the following pictures. Note in the pictures that pedestrian crossings are not protected by a traffic light, and when the crossing is not protected, you must always give priority to pedestrians and look closely at the sides to avoid any bicycles. Coming or people running.

This applies to the rules for leaving the roads.
